ooooh la la: LE LOUP

Friday night, Sam Simkoff and his 7 piece orchestra belted out their bewitching harmonies and epic transitions in the Paris' 20th. Le Loup saw Christian in the crowd, laptop in tow, and invited him up on stage for the whole set! Crazy!

LISTEN: here and here and here, please.

Seriously though, awesome show, Christian! :)

A Necessary Shout Out

This is Francoise Fromonot, our Paris urbanism teacher and a highly opinionated and outspoken urban design critic. In her lectures, she has an amazing way of carefully constructing clear explanations to some of Europe's most complex, and often controversial, urban design manifestations. It is the way she is able to articulate each argument that wins our entire class' respect and admiration. Her passion is contagious and we all feel really lucky to have her as a mentor.

wooden baguettes

Justin and I have been administering an extensive study of Vietnamese vermicelli bowls to find out which nearby restaurant serves up the most tasty rendition. Last night's survey was conducted at Le Bambou...so, far it has received the highest rankings for quality, most bizarre wait staff, and ability to efficiently pack in hungry customers as if it were a rush hour metro train.

Valentine's Day

Closest to the camera are Louise and Isabelle, students from the Malaquai school of architecture here in Paris. They were teamed up with Kai and I to produce a documentary film about a community association in the 14th arrondissment called the CRB. We met them Monday and by Friday we had completed the film.
